Ron first visited Thailand in 2003 on a short-term missions trip. The next year the whole family went on a missions trip to Thailand. After one more trip for Ron, they were appointed as missionaries to Thailand in July 2006. In 2009 during the process of raising support, they concluded after much prayer and counsel to make the transition from full-time missionaries to assistant missionaries. They will continue to reside in the States but will take occasional short-term trips to Thailand. They will also work with a group of missionaries in Thailand in a supportive role. Their group is called "City on a Hill," the purpose of which is to facilitate a national church planting movement among the unreached people groups of Asia. Ron has served in law enforcement since 1991 with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department and has worked in the jail system for most of those years. Ron and Laura are members here at Faith and serve in the music and outreach ministries. They have two daughters: Kimberly and Melissa.
