Dear praying friends,

A friend of mine who pastors in Draper, UT asked if I could introduce MRM to his congregation. It was a great opportunity to explain the importance of reaching our culture as well as offer some ideas on how to engage our Mormon friends. My text was from 1 John 5:10-13 and my point was to show why Mormons can never know if they’ve done enough to merit “exaltation.” As God would have it, a Mormon named Joseph happened to be there. We talked after the service and met later that week for lunch. It was an incredible two-hour conversation! I wrote him later to thank him for meeting with me and he responded by saying he’d like to do that again. Please pray this happens!

Because we receive information in so many different ways, it is important for us at MRM to try and stay on top of it. For years our primary method of communication was our newsletter, Mormonism Researched. Now MRM also employs a blog site (http://blog.mrm.org), a Facebook page, and Twitter. All serve a slightly different means of communicating. Recently we revamped our Facebook page. It now offer timely news updates, ministry updates, quotations, and thought-provoking questions Christians can raise with their Mormon friends. I hope you will check it out at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mormonism-Research-Ministry/132614173847?ref=ts and become a “fan.”

Yesterday I spent the day with Aaron (MRM’s tech guy) discussing changes for mrm.org. He has some great ideas, one of which is including a one-stop library of LDS books that will make it easier for Christians (and Mormons) to search LDS teachings from primary sources. Why do this? Because primary LDS sources often have a major impact on Mormons. Aaron has already put together a searchable program for the controversial 26-volume set of Journal of Discourses.  This can be found at http://jod.mrm.org/1. A link can also be found on the home page at www.mrm.org.

2010/100/10: We are asking friends to pray regarding our need to raise new donors. Sadly, this economy has affected several people who have graciously supported this work financially. Pray with us that in 2010 God will raise up 100 new donors that can give a minimum of $10 per month. This will be a big help towards some new expenses we know are coming next year.

Please remember Tammy as she continues to lead her women’s Bible study. Pray for me as I will be filling in for our pastor on Sunday. My message is in regard to man’s “marred image.” My text will be from Genesis 1:26-27.

As always we thank you for praying for us as we seek to reach out to the Mormon people and encourage the Body of Christ.
