My last update of 8-27-09 was not long ago but there has been an awesome change in a person’s life as of last night!!!  J  You may remember my asking for prayer for “Clar” who married her long time boyfriend (this past year) and father of their three children.  It has been good and bad for them throughout their relationship but this past weekend it took on a more degenerate level.  “A” has been drinking almost every weekend including this past one.  Hateful degrading words led to a frightening experience for “Clar” as “A” chased her around the outside of their home with a knife.  He said he was so angry by her words that he only wanted to scare her but felt like doing something to himself.

“Clar’s” mom, my good friend Rosita, was able to talk with “A” and found out that he has been hearing from an evil spirit since his early teen years.  He called the spirit Satan.  This spirit has told him that he saved “A’s” life twice in two car accidents and now “A” owes his life to Satan.  He has been regularly reminded that if he does exactly what the spirit tells him he will not hurt him.  “A” grew up never feeling loved and struggles to believe anyone does love him.  Rosita stopped by my place during her lunch break yesterday to ask for help and prayer.  Last night I went over to meet with all of them.  “A” admitted the drinking was to cover the noise and pain in his heart and that he cannot say no to it.  He really wants to change but cannot find the help or the strength.

“A” did end up praying to receive Jesus last night after some serious prayer!!!  He had kept his head down most of the time when I first arrived.  When we finished praying his head was down but he then began to cry.  After a while I asked him what happened?  He said that there was a very dark cloud that had always been over and around him.  As we prayed he wanted to get out of it and saw some light with a ladder leading up to it so he climbed the ladder to reach the light.  He saw part of the dark cloud leave then he said I now can hear you!!!  With a smile on his face he said he could hear and understand what Christians have been trying to say!!  When we started going through some Scripture he was totally eager with bright eyes.  He needs our prayers as the enemy is relentless out here!!!  “Clar” admitted that she has not been spending time with the Lord and knows she needs to make it a commitment.  They both need our prayers!!!  Thank you for praying!!!  We are currently planning Friday evenings for discipleship.  God bless you!!!
