Missions:

February 20, 2009

Dear Prayer Partners,

Thank you for praying as the Lord leads!!!!!!  The first part of this month was spent on two trips.  The first trip was for our annual Association of North American Missions Conference down in Phoenix, AZ  Feb. 5th & 6th.  This is meant to be a time of fellowship between missions in the southwest US and a time of renewal as listen to special speakers.  I went down on the 4th to have my back evaluated and receive new exercises to work on improper alignment.  This new set is rather unpleasant to do, but hopefully some further good will come from it!!!!  While on my first stop of the second trip, my friend's dog became very concerned as she listened to me doing my exercises!!!!!!

I arrived home late on the 6th then spent the 7th preparing for the next trip.  I traveled to Albuq. on the 8th and flew out the morning of the 9th to Fresno, CA to be a small part of the missions emphasis month for The Bridge E.V. Free Church of Fresno.  I had a great time there meeting new sisters and brothers in Christ and renewing friendships.  They gave me a full schedule which was great!!!  Whenever I speak now I have a natural horsemanship demonstration that I do using people as my horse.  I enjoy it and so do those watching!!! : )  Afterwards I will ask what everyone observed and the parallels from natural horsemanship to our spiritual lives just jump out at most everyone.  : )  The greatest part of speaking to groups or individuals is when God touches the heart of someone in a way they are needing Him.  I was told that did take place. : )  I had the privilege to spend the afternoon of the 14th with a young couple who truly desire to serve the Lord with the gifts He's given them.  Right now they want to be missionary support with their computer and other media skills.  They mentioned possibly coming out and videoing what I am currently doing so I can use it in raising support. : )  I flew back to Albuq. on the 15th and after a couple of days sleeping in and some shopping I headed back home on the 18th.

Sarah came by on the 19th just before she left for a long weekend and said that I had a glow on my face.  I didn't look burdened down.  She was feeling very burdened and stressed by the tragedies that have taken place here both before and during my trips.

January 25th a high school senior and his older brother along with their uncle were run off the road, shot to death in the vehicle before they could get out then the vehicle was torched very thoroughly as if one was trying to hide the evidence of their crime.  This was after a bad fight at a drinking party.  "Alv" knew the senior and is best friend's with one of the senior's cousins.  This cousin has a history of cutting herself and took the news very hard.  "Alv" was greatly distressed over her friend and the death of the boy.  We spent time in prayer together a couple of times before Feb.  "Alv" called Feb.3rd after Ladies' Bible study finished and seemed like she wanted to say something but was hindered at that time.  After I went to bed she called and left a message that I heard the morning of the 4th informing me that her cousin, who graduated in Dec. from high school, committed suicide a few days prior.  She was very torn up about that and requested prayer.

"Alv's" 14 year old cousin from the same family was admitted into the hospital for being suicidal during my Fresno trip.  His oldest sister had a baby during that time then developed an infection for which she had to be hospitalized and their oldest brother was in a car accident breaking three ribs.  This family has been hit very hard.  The parents were led to the Lord by "Alv's" parents back in 2001 but turned away from the Lord after some unhealthy church leader issues.  The father is saying he never should have turned away from the Lord.  I briefly visited them yesterday since they were preparing to go somewhere when I arrived.  The father was very welcoming but the mother shows she is having a hard time.

Sarah's coworker in juvenile probation, "Marl" lost a brother-in-law to suicide during my Fresno trip.  His son is now said to be suicidal.  Sarah's work with juveniles sometimes includes sitting in on their counseling sessions.  She did some of that earlier this week and was overwhelmed with the spirit of death she feels is overtaking this area.  She was very glad to  be leaving yesterday!!!!

To date there has still been no consequences for the boys involved in the bike thefts.  Thank you for praying for this.

Prayer Requests:

1.  Sarah and "Alv" to find hope and rest in the Lord;
2.  For the Lord to draw the "W" family, "Alv's" cousins, to Himself;
3.  Consequences for the boys involved in bike thefts;
4.  The spiritual health of God's people out here;
5.  A quickened pace in my study and practice of natural horsemanship. : )

Thank you for your support in the ways God leads you!!!!!!!

In His Care,

Tobie Keiser
