Dear Prayer Partners,

This summer has been one to show me the importance and power of a right attitude.  I shared in my June newsletter about the bullhead/goathead/puncture vine problem on the land I use.  I have been hiring various youth with the hope of getting a lot done.  I found that I could easily work circles around them then it started to come to me why that was...........attitude.  I have been working in the heat all summer using a drink mix made for hard work.  They say that horses sweat, men perspire and women glow.  Well, I don't know about glowing unless it is red, but I sure do know about the sweating as I would often be drenched from it.  These youth barely break a sweat and want to quit and would just putter at the work.  They really didn't like the work even though they wanted to earn money.  The slower they went the more bored they would get and not much was accomplished after all.  I would try to coach them along but ultimately the attitudes remained the same.  I notice that I can handle the heat much better when focused on tackling the job as best I can, but when I start to feel overwhelmed with the magnitude of the job and start not liking it the sun gets a lot hotter!!!!  Often I felt like this is a waste of time but when I would go back to the Lord for a check in I would be reminded of the cost of neglect.  One puncture vine has the potential to produce 200 to 400 heads just waiting to cause a human or animal pain.  The bullheads require diligence which takes a good attitude!  Sin and bullheads are alike!!!  Unchecked sin in our lives will produce pain for us and can ruin our relationships, sometimes for life.  Confessed and forsaken sin by God's power brings hope for our lives. : )

My Mission Director brought out a work team of 19 youth a week ago today to dig the trench for the conduit out to the barn and help with the bullheads.  The conduit was 99% laid and buried and some areas with bullheads were attacked.  Our newest missionary member is a computer guy and handyman.  He laid out a plan for getting the security lights put in, bought what was needed (I reimbursed him) and installed it this past weekend. : )  As of last night the lights are working. : )  Thank you for praying for this!!!!!!

August 24th is when my six week Parelli training starts.  We are to arrive that same day by 1p.m.  I am really looking forward to the time to focus on learning and practicing!!!!  Again I'm hoping this will give me a boost to get through my Level 3 course study.  Once I complete Level 3 I anticipate starting to announce lessons or line up with a summer program out here like has been suggested by a Navajo father.

Sarah is planning to stay here two nights then one night at her place while I'm away.  Her job with the Sheriff's office was dissolved so she re-applied with Juvenile Probation and will start that job a week from today.  She requests prayer for adjusting to a pay cut.  She is also trying to work through a strong bout with depression and desires prayer from all of us.  Thank you for praying for her!!!!  Gang activity is on the increase here so please pray for protection of Sarah's home and mine!!! : )

It is my desire to be a bright light for Christ wherever I go and follow the Lord's lead in interacting with others especially during this upcoming training.  Thank you for your prayers for my testimony and witness!!!!  Thank you for your financial support as the Lord leads!!!  A note for those who are giving financially, the IRS apparently has changed the rules again for tax-deductible gifts.  When writing out your check to American Indian Missions, Inc. do not include my name or my account # on your check.  Write my name or account # 725 on a separate piece of paper and include with your donation.  Sorry for the ever changing rules.  Thank you for your flexibility!!!  : )

In His Care,

Tobie Keiser
